Overview
The Doctor of Technology (D. Tech.) is an industry-facing doctorate intended to primarily serve those already employed in a significant organizational position and to help them build on, and enhance, their core competences to enable them to accelerate their career trajectory. The D. Tech. program is designed to meet the current and future needs of industry practitioners by providing them with advanced technology research and development skills along with innovation and leadership competencies. The curriculum design creates clear career paths to ensure the well-being of the graduates in their career journey as IT leaders in the digital transformation age.
This program is offered both in-person and online and can be completed in approximately three years of full-time attendance.
Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students in the D.Tech program will be able to:
- Solve practical real-world problems to address societal, economic, and business challenges
- Design and conduct use-inspired research aligned with business technologies and emerging trends
- Apply advanced leadership concepts, theories, models, and tools for creative problem solving
- Lead technology-driven innovation initiatives as part of the digital transformation
- Apply critical and ethical thinking in their everyday activities
- Perform life-long-learning dynamic skills

A total of 72 units are required for the degree.

Electives (40 units)
- Students will select any two courses (8 units) from the list below:
- Students will select eight units of TNDY electives, in consulation with a faculty advisor.
- The remaining 24 units will be selected in consulation with a faculty advisor and may be satisfied through transfer credit.
