IST 699 - Applied Dissertation The purpose of the applied dissertation is to practice and experience real-world problem solving. Based on an integration of the three practicums, Student will explore and define real-world problem/challenge and will conduct use-inspired research to explore various solution alternatives and find the optimal and most appropriate and effective solution. In this course students will perform their ability to integrate essential technology competencies learned through the practice-based practicum experiences into a comprehensive, integrated, coherent dissertation. Students will conduct the complete process of applied research starting with a topic that lies at the intersection of the three topics of their practicum courses, review the existing literature, define the problem, design the model, determine the research method, collect data, analyze the data and gather results, and summarize the process with discussion, conclusions and recommendations. Units: 4 Enrollment is exclusive to students who are in the Doctor of Technology Program Course Type: Seminar
