2020-2021 Bulletin [ARCHIVED BULLETIN]
International Student Policies
|
|
In addition to the Academic (registration, enrollment, etc), Admissions (transcript, english proficiency) and University Policies (community-level, non-academic policies) of CGU, international students may also be impacted by specific regulations related to their citizenship status:
Claremont Graduate University is certified by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to approve non-immigrant students on F-1 visas for attendance under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) Section 101(a)(15)(f); and by the Department of State (DOS) to approve non-immigrant exchange visitors on J-1 visas under INA Section 101(a)(15)(j).
The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) in coordination with DOS and DHS, oversees the federal regulations of all non-immigrants on F, and J visas. Students on an F-1 or J-1 visa are bound to the regulations provided below:
To understand how these regulations are implemented at CGU, contact the SLDL Office. Contact information for the SLDL Office can be found on the International Services page in the bulletin.
Students sponsored by an organization or government agency must become familiar with their sponsor’s regulations on payment of tuition and fees. Students who require direct billing of sponsors must contact Student Accounts Office each semester to ensure billing arrangements are made at student.accounts@cgu.edu or visit the Student Accounts page in this bulletin.
See the International Scholars Certificate in Graduate Academic Discourse of this bulletin.
