Overview
The certificate program is intended for a wide-range of medical audiences, including clinical practitioners, allied-health practitioners, medical students, and post-baccalaureate and baccalaureate pre-medical students. [ Eligibility - degree seeking vs non-degree seeking ]

Requirements
A minimum of 16 units are required for the certificate.
Students should note that courses completed with at least a B or better may also count toward the Master of Public Health (MPH) or M.S. in Evaluation and Applied Research degree.

Coursework
Required Courses
- One methods course selected from the list below:
- One statsitics course selected from the list below. Students with extensive statistical training may petition to replace the statistics course with an additional methods course.
- CGH 305 - Seminar in Grant Writing & Proposal Development (4 units)
- One elective (4 units) from the list below, chosen in consultation with the program director.
Professional Development Experience
In addition to the coursework above, students are required to complete this requirement in one of two ways:
- Attendance in 20 hours from a list of approved events in seminars emphasizing applied research methods, including a reflection.
- Participation in a research project with a CGU faculty or collaborator consisting of a minimum of 20 hours, plus a summary of contributions.
