The MA in Management (MAM) is a fast-track degree that equips students with essential management knowledge as well as specialized training in a functional area. The program is designed for the recent college graduate or early to mid-career professionals, who are looking to expand their competencies in management and business practices. After completing the degree and gaining additional work experience, graduates/alumni have the option of returning within five (5) years to earn a Drucker MBA – with MAM work applied in part toward the MBA.

Degree Requirements

The MA in Management (MAM) is a flexible program that can be completed in two semesters (one academic year) on a full-time basis or four semesters (two academic years) on a part-time basis. The MAM degree is ideal for students who are looking to transition careers, develop as managers in a specific area, or acquire new knowledge and skills in management. Candidates range from recent college graduates to those with several years of work experience. The program provides a solid foundation in management with an optional concentration in Supply Chain. Additional concentration options are forthcoming.

The Master of Arts in Management (MAM) degree program consists of 32 semester units. Most courses offered are 4 unit courses (comprising 14 sessions of three hours each). A limited range of 2 unit courses are generally offered as special interest topics. The teaching year is concentrated in the fall and spring semesters although an increasingly substantive summer program includes select core courses and electives.

Supply Chain

Supply chain management is one of the most important and central functions in today’s global market-place. Companies, nonprofit organizations, and even entire industries and countries, compete through their supply chains. Thus, there is a large and growing demand for supply chain professionals. One recent estimate predicts 1.4 million US jobs in this field by 2018. This estimate does not include the increasing demand for graduates in supply chain technologies (including big data, analytics, optimization and geospatial systems), and the management of global operations.
