Arts Management, Executive MA


The Executive Master of Arts in Arts Management (EMAM) may be completed in two years of full-time study or ona part-time basis in a maximum of five years.

Degree Requirements

Coursework.  The program requires completion of 48 units, consisting of 32 units of required core courses and 16 units of elective courses.  Students have access to executive courses not open to regular Arts Management students.  In collaboration with and upon approval of an advisor, the student determines the actual arrangement and sequence of courses taken. 

Capstone Course. ARMGT 400, the Arts Management Consulting Practicum, is a 4-unit capstone experience for the second year of the Arts Management program. Students in their final semester conduct consulting projects in arts organizations. Activities include defining the scope of work, identifying deliverables, contracting, conducting the project, and writing a final project report. Integrating arts management skills learned through the program, students provide 100 hours of consulting with the support of a faculty advisor. The project culminates with a final paper and public presentation.
