MGT 510B - Foundations of Research 2


This doctoral seminar focuses on what constitutes appropriate doctoral-level research in business.  It introduces foundational principles of rigorous research, emphasizing conceptual thinking, use of theory, development of research questions, and how to review the literature. Students will learn to identify research-worthy ideas, link constructs to measurable indicators, and articulate conceptual models. By the end of this two-part seminar, students will appreciate core concepts related to academic rigor and begin shaping the topic for the DBA research project. The course is designed to complement other PhD seminars on methods and substantive topics.
