PSYCH 416B - Professional Doctorate Practice (PsyD + D.Eval) B Professional Doctorate Practice B continues the work begun in Professional Doctorate Practice A, guiding students through the implementation, completion, and presentation of their applied doctoral work. D.Eval students focus on finalizing their professional portfolios and demonstrating mastery across evaluator competencies, while PsyD students implement and evaluate their collaborative practicum projects—executing interventions, collecting and analyzing data, and presenting actionable recommendations for their client organizations.
Building on the foundational skills established in the first course, this second phase emphasizes honing consulting skills, ethical and professional practice, and advanced communication for diverse audiences. Students engage with professional development guest speakers and peer feedback sessions that strengthen their consulting presence and applied research skills. The course also supports students in developing as scholar-practitioners and includes guidance on publishing scholarly or applied work to promote professional dissemination.
By the end of the course, students will have completed their applied projects or professional portfolios, presented their findings or deliverables, and demonstrated their growth as reflective, evidence-informed practitioners ready to lead change in their respective fields. Units: 2-4 Enrollment is exclusive to students who have previously passed Professional Doctorate Practice (PsyD + D.Eval) A (PSYCH 416). Course Type: Seminar
