CGH 311 - Curriculum & Materials Development This course provides an opportunity for students to explore curriculum writing and training skills applied to public health needs and settings. Students will explore learning theories, assessment of learning needs, curriculum and training design, conduct and evaluation. Faculty will present examples of curriculum concerning tobacco, alcohol, drugs, physical activity and HIV prevention. The course will include a review of health communications theories, assessment of audiences and their needs, and principles of message design for diverse audiences. Units: 4 Enrollment is exclusive to students who have previously taken Theoretical Foundations in Health Promotion & Education (CGH 300, CGH 300C or CGH 300X) OR Survey of Health Behavior Theory (PSYCH 339).
