IST 380 - Introduction to Health Informatics Health Informatics, a novel academic discipline bridging Health and Information Technology, may be defined as the science that deals with the structure, acquisition and use of medical/health information. With the global boom in healthcare and quantum advancements in IT, healthcare informatics is already becoming an exciting career choice whose demand is projected to far exceed supply. This introductory level graduate course is geared to meet the educational needs of the health care professional seeking additional training in information management and technology & the non-health care professional seeking training in health information and technology. Units: 4 Enrollment is exclusive to students in any program offered through the Center for Information Systems & Technology or the School of Community and Global Health. Course Type: Seminar
