BOT 411 - Special Topics in Plant Systematics: Botanical Nomenclature

Taxonomy and nomenclature are distinct in that the former deals with the delimitation of taxa whereas the latter involves how taxa are named. Students will read and discuss the International Code of Nomenclature for Algae, Fungi, and Plants, investigate the nomenclatural history of plant groups of interest, and solve nomenclatural problems.
