The Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) provides a thorough foundation in the functions and processes of management.
Degree Requirements
Coursework. A total of 48 units are required in three areas.
Core Business Management Foundations (16 units). Required units are distributed in the areas identified as follows.
- Financial & Managerial Accounting (4 units)
- Corporate Finance (4 units)
- Marketing Management (2 units)
- Quantitative Methods (4 units)
- Organizational Behavior (2 units)
Strategy or Leadership (8 units).
- Strategy courses have been developed by senior faculty based upon their unique research. Coursework allows students to delve deeply into the integration of strategy in other management subjects.
- Leadership courses examine what it means to lead in today’s world and learn ways to affect meaningful change and performance in yourself and from those around you.
Electives (24 units). The electives offer courses on a variety of subjects, allowing each participant to craft a program of study to meet specific interests and needs. A non-profit concentration is also offered.
Utility of MAM Units. Students who have received the Master of Arts in Management (MAM) degree from CGU may elect to complete the additional admission and degree requirements for the EMBA. 16 units of MAM degree coursework may be applied to the EMBA degree. Participants who have not completed the MAM degree may transfer all of the completed MAM coursework to the EMBA, provided EMBA course requirements are met.
