The Ph.D. with emphasis in Special Education is designed for professionals seeking to become university faculty or educational leadership personnel to improve the academic results of students with disabilities. The program design integrates requirements for the Level II Education Specialist Credential. Students choose their remaining coursework to support personal academic and research interests. Individuals working as school administrators and possessing the Preliminary Administrative Services Credential may choose to earn the Professional Administrative Services (Tier II) Credential by incorporating the required courses into their plan of study. All other requirements of the Ph.D. (listed above) apply to students in this program. Funding for students in this program is available through a variety of externally funded projects.
