Program

Information Systems & Technology (IST) faculty teach and conduct research about the use of information technology to solve transdisciplinary problems.  Technologically adept, but not strictly “tech,” the program offers labs and curricula that integrate computing, management, and other disciplines.

Our students aspire to be IT leaders in practice, in IT and non-IT businesses, in government, in education, and elsewhere.  Some strive to hold research and teaching positions in academia.  All endeavor to master the established body of knowledge in the field, pursuing exposure to the latest research findings from our faculty members and their colleagues from around the world.

Three programs are offered.

Master’s program.  The Master of Science in Information Systems & Technology  prepares students for leadership roles in business, government, education, and other areas, providing an essential balance between technology and management content.  A concentration in GIS Solution Development is available.

Doctoral program.  The doctoral program in Information Systems & Technology  nurtures scholars in the field by immersing students in research from distinguished faculty.  A Master’s degree in information technology or other related field is essential.

Dual program.  The MSIST/MBA  program allows students to earn two Master’s degrees–the MSIST and the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees simultaneously.
