Special Programs at CGU

Getty Leadership Institute

In November 2009, the Getty Foundation established the Getty Leadership Institute (GLI) at CGU.  A long history of programming, however, can be traced back to 1979 and the first offering of the Museum Management Institute under the auspices of the San Francisco-based Art Museum Association of America (AMAA) and the University of California Berkeley Extension.

GLI programs are designed to provide experienced executives in museum management with the tools to strengthen their leadership skills and advance the work of their institutions.  Summer programs are offered in collaboration with the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management and faculty from arts and humanities disciplines.

Admission to GLI programs is conducted entirely by the GLI.  Programs are governed by continuing education (CE) policies and units earned are not transferrable to graduate programs.  For more information, visit the GLI website.

The Evaluators’ Institute

The Evaluators’ Institute (TEI) aims to strengthen evaluations across the globe by providing high-quality evaluation training to individuals and organizations. Taught by leaders in the field, our courses offer technical rigor in evaluation methods and practice through participant-centered, adult-learning approaches.

Admission to TEI programs is conducted entirely by TEI.  Programs are governed by continuing education (CE) policies and any units earned are not transferrable to graduate programs.  For more information, visit the the TEI website.
