Offered jointly by the School of Community & Global Health and the Division of Behavioral & Organizational Sciences, the master’s program in positive health psychology explores the relationship of optimism and physical health, positive health behaviors, and the role social support and relationships play in maximizing health and well-being. Positive psychologists who are also competent in epidemiologic and public health principles will be well positioned to for positions at managed care and other health provider organizations, mental health departments, and federal agencies like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Admissions Requirements

Program Requirements 

Coursework. The 48-unit program includes core health courses (24 units), positive psychology courses (12 units) and applied research methodology courses (12 units).

Transfer Credit. The University’s Transfer Credit Policies  apply. The MA program permits the transfer of up to 10 semester units from prior graduate work completed outside of CGU with advisor approval.
