Research Practice for Health Professionals, Certificate

The certificate program will be offered through the main campus of CGU and is intended for a wide-range of medical audiences, including clinical practitioners, allied-health practitioners, medical students, and post-baccalaureate and baccalaureate pre-medical students. Courses completed with at least a B or better while in the certificate program may be applied toward completion of the Master of Public Health (MPH) or Master of Science (MS) in Evaluation and Applied Research degree.

Requirements

The certificate requires a minimum of 16 units of coursework:

EVAL 315, Evaluation & Applied Research Methods: A Survey of Quantitative and Qualitative Approaches

Statistics*

EVAL 320, Quantitative Analysis & Statistics for Evaluation & Applied Research

*Exception: students with extensive statistical training may petition to replace the statistics course with an additional methods course.

Proposal Development

Professional Development Experience 

Attendance in seminars emphasizing applied research methods (20 hours from a list of approved events, plus reflection) OR

Participation in a research project with a CGU faculty or collaborator (Minimum of 20 hours, plus summary of contributions)
