Program-Specific Application Requirements

• Three letters of recommendation

• Writing Sample: Applicants to the PhD in Musicology or the MA in Music with a concentration in Musicology should submit examples of their written work in the form of published articles or unpublished papers.

• Audition required for performance concentration applicants

• English Proficiency Examination Scores (international applicants only)
  • Applicants to the Music programs, with an IELTS score of 5.0, DuoLingo English Test 85, TOEFL 47, or Pearson PTE 36, may be considered for admission into our International Scholars Program in cases where the student’s academic program and holistic review of all their credentials suggest they have potential to succeed. These exceptional cases must be approved by both the academic Dean and the Director of Admissions.
