The master’s program prepares participants to assume professional roles in public service, business, and industry or to advance to doctoral study. (See the “Degree Regulations ” section of this Bulletin.)

Students in the Master’s co-concentration program complete coursework in evaluation science along with coursework in one of the following substantive content area of psychology: Applied Cognitive Psychology, Applied Developmental Psychology, Applied Social Psychology, Health Behavior Research, Organizational Behavior, Positive Developmental Psychology, or Positive Organizational Psychology.

Degree Requirements

The M.A. co-concentration degree requires 48 units of coursework, including 24 units of methodology and evaluation, a minimum of 12 units of core courses (depending on the chosen concentration area), and 12 units of electives approved by their advisor. For their elective courses, students are encouraged to take advanced methodology courses, and may also take additional coursework in their area of concentration or coursework in another area. A thesis is not required for this degree, but in unusual situations, and with the consent of their advisor, a student may complete a thesis in this M.A. program. Upon completing this program, students may also apply to one of the doctoral psychology programs at CGU or at another university.
